Logistics & freight forwarding
Charges, payables, payroll, and a ledger that closes when shipments already moved.

The sector's week
Pain first — what operators actually feel before naming a module.
Containers cleared yesterday, agent invoices arrive today, and the customer still wants a statement that matches what you actually billed.
- Agent and carrier bills must land in payables with tax that matches the filing pack
- Customer freight invoices and receipts must age in one receivables view — not a separate ops spreadsheet
- Drivers and office staff still need payroll and leave beside the same company books
How it works
Three steps — the week's rhythm, not a feature dump.
- 1
Capture customers, carriers, and charge items as masters finance and ops both reuse.
- 2
Invoice the shipper and book agent bills into AR/AP that post balanced local-currency journals.
- 3
Close payroll and statutory papers without a second people system.
Questions
Six sector questions. Short answers up front — expand for the longer version in the HTML either way.
Is this a WMS or 3PL billing product? Not on this page — warehouse execution publishes when that epic’s test gate closes.
Today we cover freight-forwarding money: invoices, payables, inventory when you stock materials, payroll, and the ledger. Bin-level WMS and 3PL storage billing stay gated.
Can we invoice in the customer’s currency?Yes — document currency on the invoice; LCY on journals and aging.
Enable currencies per workspace. Statements keep face amounts in the document currency and convert other lines through stored LCY.
How do carrier bills enter? As supplier bills under payables with the same VAT path as other expenses.
Vendors, bills, and allocations post into the ledger. Multi-currency bills keep authoritative LCY snapshots.
Do drivers get payroll here?Yes — employees and pay runs live under People & payroll.
Salary history, leave, and posted pay runs create journals. HR grants do not open Available cash by default.
Can we import an existing forwarder’s books?Yes — bind one source company and import customers, vendors, and ledgers.
Company import is idempotent. Ops registers that are not live modules are not promised on this page.
Where do shipment files and portal passwords go?Credentials vault for secrets; work boards for delivery follow-ups.
Encrypted vault entries are role-gated. Tasks and boards track follow-ups without replacing a specialist TMS.

Do you claim warehouse scanning today? No. Scanning, bins, and 3PL billing wait on the warehouse epic test gate.
Can freight invoices multi-currency?Yes — document currency stays on the invoice; journals keep local-currency amounts.
